Sa Bom Nim (Master) Fitzgerald began his Martial Arts training at C.S. Kim Karate in Center Township, Pennsylvania, under the instruction of Grandmaster C.S. Kim and Master Marcus Murtaugh. He has trained in the International Tang Soo Do Federation since 1988. Master Fitzgerald has taught Tang Soo Do at Penn State University and at the University of Chicago. In 1996, he began teaching classes to children, youth, and adults in Hyde Park. Today, he remains an active student, fifth degree black belt, as well as a Certified Instructor with the International Tang Soo Do Federation.

Master Fitzgerald has had the privilege of training with Grandmaster C. S. Kim in countries around the world, including England, Wales, Korea, China, Mexico, and Panama. He has been featured in many news articles and martial arts publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Tae Kwon Do Times, and Art of the Warrior magazine. He has appeared on NBC 5 News (Chicago), Maintain Your Brain, and a national television commercial for On-Cor Foods. He is also the Head Martial Arts Instructor for the University of Chicago NKO Charter School.

Master Fitzgerald holds a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and a Masters in Education from Penn State University.
